Jonny said "Discovering Cape Town was like finding a paradise which also happened to have the best food, wine, colourful locals, natural habitat, great modern architecture and interior design. The City is an established business centre and destination with serious art galleries, theatre, restaurants and a plethora of hosptiallity options. The entruprenural spirit of South Africa is at its most vibrant and exciting in the melting pot that is Cape Town - anything is possible here."

Driftwood was their first purchase in 1996 with Eleven on Luisa following a few months later and Urban Lime extended its commercial property business to Cape Town in 2004 and now has substantial holdings in the centre of Cape Town.

Jonny and Katie met at a private villa party in Ibiza and were instantly curious about each other after discovering they were neighbours in London and Cape Town, eventually going on a first date in Cape Town almost 8 months after meeting. They married in Mykonos in 2007 and formed Villa Crew in 2008 offering an unusual blend of hotel style-services in private homes and villas.
